Our LEAD team won the popular vote to present - Putting People First: Building Sustainable Cities with Communities - at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD), Rio+20. This sustainable cities course was developed by LEAD staff and Fellows with 20 years' experience delivering world class leadership learning. LEAD outstripped the opposition gaining almost double the votes of their nearest rival.
I was very happy to work with this great team (Edward Kellow, Head of Learning and Leadership at LEAD International; John Lewis, President, LEAD Canada; Dr. Anton de Wit, Lecturer at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University who has worked directly with Nelson Mandela on community social inclusion).
I was involved in many interesting conferences in Rio+20 and I would like to thank the UNITED NATIONS team for the invitation and the opportunity to take part in this conference as well as for their support before, during and after the event. It was an honour to learn, to share my work and my thoughts in RIO+20.
